Job creation is an absolute priority as we recover from the current economic recession. We must take steps to invest in priorities that create sustainable economic growth. Unemployment rates have hit an all time high and it is crucial that the business community be re-energized. As your Lee County Commissioner, Cecil Pendergrass will fight for incentive based programs and streamline the building process to attract new businesses and/or help existing companies rebuild and hire workers.

New and expanding business will attract new residents, which adds to the tax base, stimulating
our local economy. Cecil Pendergrass is currently involved with a program that is working to
bring organizations together to attract, house, and sustain year-round residents at no cost to
the taxpayers. He has what it takes -- knowledge, experience, and determination to organize
and follow through with projects that make a difference!

Spending

Cecil Pendergrass is a fiscal conservative with a common-sense approach to spending. He believes that transparency is in the best interest of both the Government and its taxpayers, as it promotes accountability, efficiency, and effectiveness. As your Lee County Commissioner, Cecil Pendergrass will seek practical solutions to promote efficiency and eliminate unnecessary wasteful expenditures.  He will utilize his experience in examining municipal budgets to identify areas of savings by reviewing Lee County’s budget line-by-line. He will fight to prioritize spending while preserving
core services, without loss or diminished quality of life to Lee County's residents.

Taxes

Your tax dollars need to be put to work for the betterment of the community.  It is crucial to ensure that the current tax program is affordable and sustainable over time for Lee County's residents.  As your Lee County Commissioner, Cecil Pendergrass will work to keep your property taxes low by making decisions based upon the needs of the community, not the desires of special interest groups. 

Environment

As a lifelong resident of Fort Myers, Cecil Pendergrass appreciates the importance of preserving and protecting the Florida ecosystem. As your Lee County Commissioner, he will serve as a catalyst to support efforts in safeguarding our natural resources and wildlife habitat. Cecil Pendergrass is committed to establishing and maintaining relationships with environmental organizations, businesses, and educational institutions in order to make sound eco-friendly decisions that will preserve Southwest Florida’s natural beauty and resources for generations to come.

Communication

Throughout his public service career, communication has been a strength that has served Cecil Pendergrass well. He believes that it is the cornerstone of success in meeting common ground between Government and its taxpayers. Collaboration with the public and field experts will enhance the Commission’s decision making quality, which will better serve the community. As your Lee County Commissioner, Cecil Pendergrass will have an open-door policy and not only welcomes but encourages you to talk with him about the issues you feel most passionate about.
